Philip Ng Wan-lung is a Hong Kong-born actor, martial artist, action choreographer and action director. He is currently based in Hong Kong and is involved in international movie-making.
Philip was born in Hong Kong and spent the majority of his youth in Chicago, USA, whereby he obtained his graduate studies at the prestiges University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Arts Education. In Chicago, he started his martial arts education from a young age. Thereafter, he returned to Hong Kong to pursue a career in acting and martial arts choreography in film and television.
Philip holds instructor certifications in various martial arts. At the age of 7 years-old and under the tutelage of his father, Sam Ng, he became a sixth generation disciple of Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu. At the age of 13, he was trained in Ving Tsun Kung under the late Sifu Wong Shun Leung. Later, Philip obtained additional training in Tae Kwon Do, Hung Gar Fung Fu, Western boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, Serrada Escrima, Greco-Roman wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Chinese Washu. Philip continues to be involved with his family's martial arts studio in Chicago (Ng Family Chinese Martial Arts Association), having trained countless students and future martial arts experts. In addition to acting, Philip is also an accomplished fight choreographer and action film director.
Philip has been involved and starred in numerous movies, including "New Police Story" with Jackie Chan, "Bodyguards and Assassins," "Once Upon a Time in Shanghai" and many others. He is currently the protagonist in a Hollywood feature film, entitled "Birth of the Dragon," whereby he portrays Bruce Lee.
In April of 2015, Philip was an invited speaker at Hornell Hall's High-Table Dinner and provided a lecture entitled, "Problem Solving for Life".
